REKADAYA ELEKTRIKA SUCCEEDS CARRY OUT BACKFEEDING SOFIFI PLTU 2X3 MW
RE-Insite again delivered encouraging news regarding the progress of the construction of one of the Steam Power Plant (PLTU) projects undertaken by PT Rekadaya Elektrika (RE) which is located in the Maluku islands, precisely in the North Halmahera region.
As of the 4th week of July 2023, work in the field has reached a progress of 35.305%. Currently the project team in the field is working to complete the installation of pipes and power cables, as well as the testing & commissioning stages of Low Voltage (LV) & Medium Voltage (MV) Switchgear and testing & commissioning for transformers. And on Saturday July 8, 2023, the RE project team has successfully carried out backfeeding.
What is backfeeding? Backfeeding is a stage of the power plant development process that utilizes a temporary connection of electrical energy from PLN’s 20 kV system, which is used for testing the readiness of equipment in the generating system.
PT PLN (Persero) UIP Maluku Papua as the owner also expressed appreciation and gratitude for the hard work given by the RE project team for successfully carrying out one of the milestones, namely Backfeeding in accordance with the initial target. While advising that the RE project team remains focused on completing the next stage of work.
